ASHAV SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

There are four steps listed below that to complete the application process. 
 

  1. Review the Scholarship Application Checklist.

  2. Complete the ASHAV Application below and include references you would like to seek a letter of recommendation from.

Before starting the application below, please review the application checklist above to make sure you have all the information needed to complete the application.



Applicant Information

References


Letters of recommendation must be submitted by at least two, and no more than four, individuals who are not members of your family. These letters must be signed and sent to the Scholarship Chairman by those making the recommendations. One reference must be an education professional (principal, advisor, teacher), and one must be someone qualified to comment on your Saddlebred activities (trainer, instructor, member of barn family).

Application Requirements

  1. In the space below, please list schools you have attended (omit grade school). Input School Name, Location, Dates Attended, and Grade Completed (if applicable)

  1. Please indicate your GPA and upload copies of your official High School Transcripts and if applicable, college transcripts.

  1. Please upload below official results of any college entrance exam scores (ACT, SAT, Other). If you did not take entrance exams, please upload an explanation of why there were not needed for your area of study.

ESSAY

  1. Write a brief essay to include information about school experiences, special interests, hobbies, and activities with the American Saddlebred sport. Also, please list of your scholastic, ASHAV and community activities A listing of horse show wins in discouraged.


    The main objective is to give the selection committee a clear understanding of your possible career choices, individual goals, strengths and personal ideals. Special personal and family circumstances may be included.

  1. Please list below any extracurricular activities you are involved with at school, in the community or with ASHAV.

  1. Please upload a headshot photo to be used if you are awarded the scholarship.

Acknowledgement and Signature


The information contained in this scholarship application is true to the best of my knowledge, and I have composed my own essay. I understand and agree that if all components of the application are not received by Scholarship Chair by the February 1st deadline, the application will not be forwarded to the ASHAV Scholarship Selection Committee for consideration.

Next Steps

All applications and references must be received by February 1st.  All applications will be reviewed by the ASHAV Board of Directors and winners will be announce at the ASHAV Convention in March.
